The company was founded in 1982 by it's owner Robert A. Hansen. Bob attended the State University of New York at Farmingdale before starting Robert Hansen Landscaping, LLC. He holds a Supervisory Certificate for Turf and Ornamentals and is a State Licensed Arborist. Bob has been working in the landscape field since 1978.

Carl T. Hansen joined the company in 1982. Carl brought with him a Bachelor of Science degree in Agronomy (soils and turf) from Delaware Valley College, 1980. He also holds a Supervisory Certificate and is a State Licensed Arborist. Carl is responsible for the Landscape Maintenance Division and fertilization and pesticide application.

Sean A. Hansen joined the company in 2000. Sean Graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Natural Resources Management and Engineering. He is also a State Licensed Arborist and holds a Supervisory License for Ornamentals and Turf. He is accredited by the Northeast Organic Farming Association (NOFA) and is the Department Manager of the Integrated Pest Management Division of Robert Hansen Landscaping, LLC.
